What advice would you give to aspiring musicians?

Do it yourself. Nobody is going to do it for you. That means everything. Don’t expect someone to figure something out for you. When I started out, I thought, “If I only had a label, things would come together,” but really it’s all about what you can make artistically. Sometimes you have to take care of it for a very long time. I’ve been fortunate to have good people helping me for a long time, but for an even longer time, I was doing it myself.
